Intelligent Design vs. Evolution in the classroom

There is a continued battle brewing on the classroom over how to teach the beginning of time. Some have introduced a new concept called Intelligent Design. This theory claims that the universe is so complex that it had to be designeed by a higher being. Supporters of evolution however argue that intelligent design is just another way of infusing creationism in the classroom. Personally I think both should be taught since none of us were there in the beginning. We really dont know what happened. I prefer the intelligent design but I think this whole situation is being taken out of context by both sides.
